A Dynamic Methodology for Setting Up Inspection Time Intervals in Conditional Preventive Maintenance

In periodic condition monitoring, the main problem lies in determining inspection time intervals. This paper presents a new method for setting an optimum calendar to inspect critical component that fails due wear and tear as described by Weibull probability function. By considering set of intervals, such reliability between every two inspections is kept equal or below pre-set threshold while keeping total costs inspection, degraded production, consequences failure, repair minimum. The resulting may be adjusted dynamically over take place test results are found negative, inspector’s confidence likelihood method’s yielding false negatives. Consequently, becomes self-adjustable it returns after observations each known properly interpreted. There several studies deal with this issue, but none addresses concept safe unsafe windows which from merging other concepts: descendant intervals delay potential failure functional (the P–F period).
